IPL 2025: Spotlight on Fresh Talent joining the league

The auction for IPL 2025 was held on 24th and 25th of November, 2024 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The franchises, after a lot of scouting and research, picked the best domestic and international players. Many players will be featuring for the very first time and today, in this article by ZAP cricket, we share a list of all the players who are freshly picked by each of the franchisees. 

Chennai Super Kings 

Five time champion, CSK, has bought six newcomers in the team. They have focused more on younger batsmen and hence they have gone with a combination of 5-1. 

Delhi Capitals 

Considering the need for T20 cricket, DC have invested all their money on all rounders when it comes to buying a lot of junior players. They have shown interest on players who are capable of both- batting and bowling. 

Gujarat Titans 

The champion team of 2022 IPL has introduced three fresh faces in their squad. Out of which, one is a pure bat and the other two are all rounders. Hence, as far as bowling is concerned, they are relying on their senior experienced players.

Kolkata Knight Riders 

KKR, after winning the 2024 edition, didn’t experiment much as they bought only one player who has never experienced IPL energy. Sisodia is an all rounder from Karnataka and has had a decent exposure in domestic cricket as well. 

Lucknow SuperGiants

LSG will play their fourth season in 2025 and after the inclusion of Rishabh Pant, the team looks quite compact. They have picked 5 freshers, amongst which, 2 are batsman, 2 bowlers and an all rounder. 

Mumbai Indians 

MI is known for their scouting teams. Every year they bring new players from the grassroots and each of the players leaves a mark. This year too, they have picked seven extremely talented players. Out of these, two are overseas players and the rest are selected from different parts of the country. 

Punjab Kings

PBKS has shown special interest in batsmen. Out of all the fresh bunch of players, only one is a pacer, rest all are batsman. 

Rajasthan Royals 

Rajasthan Royals haven’t won the title for a long time now. They needed some shuffling and young blood in their squad. To turn fortunes in 2025, they have brought four inexperienced yet extremely talented players. Out of these four, one is Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 13 year old from Bihar. He can easily clear the fence and is a delight to watch.

Royal Challengers Bangalore 

2025 could be the year when RCB lift their maiden title. They picked four players, who were:
