List of winners of Women’s T20 World Cup: From 2009 till 2024
October 20, 2024 will always be remembered as a remarkable day in history books. It was when the New Zealand Women’s team clinched their maiden title in Women’s T20 World Cup. Amelia Kerr was the star of the night as she was awarded ‘Player of the Match’. She contributed in all the three departments. With bat, she scored 43 runs and with ball, she took 3 wickets. Not only that, she took a crucial catch of Nadine de Klerk. Overall, her dominance in all the three departments helped her side cross the finish line.
However, if we look at other dressing rooms, South Africans will be quite upset as they lost the finals for the second consecutive time. In 2022, they lost to Australia and now in 2024 they were the victims of New Zealand. Laura Wolvaardt, their current skipper, led from the front in both the editions. In the 2024 edition, she scored the most runs. Hopefully this unit will learn from their mistakes and come back stronger in the next edition.
Today, in this article by ZAP Cricket, we will share the list of winners of the Women's T20 World Cup and a brief history of all the finals.
