The Universe Boss, Chris Gayle, holds the record for the most sixes in IPL history, a staggering 357 in just 141 innings! One of his most memorable maximums came in 2013 when he sent a delivery from Ashok Dinda soaring 119 metres over the boundary. It might not be the longest in IPL history, but it’s a shot you can watch on repeat. Other big hitters, like Yuvraj Singh and Ross Taylor, have matched Gayle's 119 metre six with their hits. Gautam Gambhir, in particular, who was rather known for his precise stroke play than massive hits, also makes an appearance on the list after sending a ball for 117 metres with a slog over deep square leg against the Rajasthan Royals' S Sreesanth in 2013.

Ben Cutting played a blistering knock for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2016 final vs RCB, where he smashed a 117 metre six, which was not less than a dagger to the hearts of the RCB fans and players. Liam Livingstone, most renowned for his insane six hitting ability, is also one of the players with the longest six in IPL history after hitting a ball 117 metres away against the Gujarat Titans.

Longest Six in IPL 2023: Faf du Plessis (RCB) 115 metres against Lucknow Super Giants

Faf du Plessis, the South African captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, hit the biggest six of the 2023 IPL season at 115 metres long. He smacked the young leg spinner, Ravi Bishnoi, over the top of the Chinnaswamy Stadium's roof. Interestingly, he was also the player with the most sixes hit in the tournament, at 36 maximums. He was truly one of the best batsman and the rock in the powerplays for RCB’s batting in the 2023 season. 

Next comes the Australian big hitter, Tim David who smacked a 114 m six against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) team, just falling short of the record. Tim David proved to be an immense player for the Mumbai Indians, knowing the fact that he was replacing Keiron Pollard, who has been one of IPL’s best all rounders, as the team’s middle order power hitter and finisher.
