Top 5 highest paid players of IPL 2025

The auction days for IPL 2025 in Jeddah brought a lot of twists in the fortunes of plenty of players. While some were bought on a hefty price, some went unsold. Overall, a lot of shuffling was seen with teams picking players as well as their budget. What was shocking was the record breaking bidding for Rishabh Pant. He is now the highest paid player in the history of IPL.

Today, in this article we will discuss the Top 5 highest paid players of IPL 2025 and interestingly all of them are Indians!

Rishabh Pant: INR 27 Crores

Pant is an exceptional wicket keeper batsman and the reason why his bidding went this high is his versatility. He can provide stability in the batting and also attack if needed. He has all the shots in his kitty which help him access each part of the ground. Hence, he is a proven match winner. Over and above his batting and wicket keeping skills, he is a good leader as well. He was the skipper of Delhi Capitals last year. He is a complete package deal. Interestingly, RTM card was used by Delhi Capitals but Lucknow Supergiants were so keen to have him that they proposed a massive price of INR 27 Crores! With this bidding price, Pant became the highest paid player in the history of IPL.

Shreyas Iyer: INR 26.75 Crores

What makes Iyer special are his batting and leadership skills. Last year, he lifted the silverware as the skipper of Kolkata Knight Riders and that alone says a lot about his credentials as a leader. He is a complete batter, he knows when to attack and when to slow down, depending on the situation.

So far, he has played 115 matches, scoring 3,127 runs with 21 fifties registered under his belt.

Venkatesh Iyer: INR 23.75 Crores

Iyer is a strong left hand batter and a mystery bowler who can ball both medium pace and spin, as per the situation of the game. He is the true ‘all rounder’ and that’s what keeps him in high demand. His role in last year’s KKR victory was indispensable.

His contributions in all the three departments- batting, bowling and fielding make him a team player.

Arshdeep Singh: INR 18 Crores

Arshdeep Singh wasn’t an economical bowler when he entered elite cricket. But now, as he has gained experience, he is one of the most demanded bowlers. His ability to swing the new ball and the natural left arm angle make him a deadly bowler in the initial stage of the game.

In 2019, he was picked by Punjab Kings and since then he has been a regular member of the team. In this brief period, he has played 65 matches and taken 76 runs with his best figures as 5/32.

Yuzvendra Chahal: INR 18 Crores

Chahal knows well how to provide breakthroughs and that is one of the reasons why his bid went this high. He is a leg spinner who knows plenty of variations. He was part of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals before and was a core member in their teams as well. On a given day, Chahal can conveniently demolish opposition’s batting line up and that is the prime reason why teams were chipping in money in the bid to have him in their team.

Although he is not part of the international circuit now, he is still highly ranked in domestic cricket.
