Women of steel: Sophie Devine
It is always a special feeling to win a World Cup for your country. And if one achieves that feat as a captain, it is icing on the cake. World Cup winning captains truly imbibe their names in history books, they are remembered for long. For instance, MS Dhoni is remembered for his contributions as a skipper first and then as a player. He will always be regarded as a player who won three ICC trophies for India. Hence, it’s the captain who is remembered for a longer time.
Recently, the Women's World Cup concluded and it was Sophie Devine’s team that lifted the trophy. New Zealand grabbed their maiden title and like always, it will be Sophie Devine who’ll be remembered the most and the longest for this triumph in 2024.
